- Mostly been used as a lead rein pony untill we purchased her as a project for my daughter to start bringing on in the summer whilst her jump pony had a splint.
We have done schooling at home, beach rides, forestry rides, pony club camp, a couple of shows and cross country schooling. We have also been on hound exercise and hunting which I would say she enjoyed the most along with hacking she just gets on with it next to my horse and is fine in traffic *hacks over M5 motorway bridge and around busy village and super easy to ride and lead.
Candy is snaffle mouth and has never gotten fizzy. Easy for a 6 year old to lunge!
Candy's negative bit's what we've found- She can be shy for an adult to catch her in (i get the impression something may have happened to her in the past, once she trusts you your fine) daughter actually quietly catches her in better than me! She's not very confident at jumping to start with (as a first ridden but fine as lead rein) but once the penny drops she's got a lovely clean action and her ears are pricked she just lacks confidence and needs a rider to give her this if she's off the lead rein. Candy really loved the pair's jumping at pc camp! We have taken her SJ and she won the class. Candy wouldn't be the type for children to run up to in the paddock, she does like her own space and is happy to be in a paddock on her own.
I feel she would be suited as a hacking/hunt home or to continue life on the lead rein or with a confident rider to push her on if first ridden.
Candy has a clean bill of help, never sick or sorry. No health issues, teeth done this year and vaccinated, bare foot and good with farrier, loads trailer or recently lorry.
Comes with all her gear, sad sale.
