Description: Reluctant sale of a much-loved pony. Gem is a very pretty, correct Registered Section A mare with excellent movement and presence, making her a lovely prospect for the show ring. She has the looks and presence to go on and produce a competitive pony in the right hands. Despite limited outings due to lack of transport, Gem has attended hunt meets (both on and off the lead rein),a one-day event, showing shows, completed a handful of clear rounds and happily hacks in the woods/ fields and roads. We brought gem when my daughter was 3 as lightly backed and they have grown together in confidence. Gem has taken my daughter from lead rein / lunge to off lead riding independently. I would say majority of the time Gem is a bit more go than woah so she wouldn’t suit a really nervous jockey however she does not rear/ buck or bolt and she has brakes. She can be cheeky if she thinks she can get away with a little nap/spook but this is only on occasion and more so if she is being ridden on her own. My daughter rides on her own most days however we often joke that gem would make a great riding school pony as she loves being in the school and on hacks with others. Gem will hack alone, however as my daughter is only 6 hasn’t done a lot of it and is a bit more looky, with others she doesn’t bat an eye lid and my daughter often goes off with other people in small groups around the farm. ✔️ Easy to catch ✔️ Happy to stand and be groomed ✔️ Good to load, travel and hack ✔️ Unfazed by traffic and large machinery ✔️ Barefoot, good for the farrier (slightly nervous but improving) ✔️ Good to clip (needs assistance or oral sedation for lower hind legs) ✔️ Turns out with mares and geldings ✔️ Stabled in winter at night, lives out 24/7 in summer with restricted grazing otherwise still stables day or night. ✔️ upto date with farrier, dentist, vax ✔️ No stable/field vices or health concerns Gem is excellent to ride and lead, she will be well suited to lead rein / non lead rein classes, clinics, Pony Club activities and family fun days. With a knowledgeable family and confident handler, she has the potential to really shine and progress. 📸 Plenty of photos and videos available The best home is more important than the price for gem, I’ll be devastated to see her go however my daughter is looking for something a little bigger with a bit more go. 📍 Based in Bedfordshire
