Description: 13.1/13.2 bay gelding, 18 yrs, breed unknown. Up to date with farrier/physio/dentist/worming/vaccinations Minstrel was bought in 2023 (he passed a 5 stage vetting) to help a novice jockey with low level show jumping. He was previously jumping BS and was a Grade JC pony. We have tried for 2 years but unfortunately the pony does not enjoy having a nervous/novice jockey. He is a sensitive competition pony. He needs an experienced/calm/confident & capable jockey. He is good to lead to and from the field and is happy to be turned out on his own or we have had him turned out with another gelding. He is also happy in the stable on his own. He travels well on his own or in company; in the lorry or a trailer. He can be stubborn to load at times but treats help with this. When ridden he enjoys showjumping. He has been good at shows we have taken him to and will happily stand in the lorry and be tacked up in the lorry. Also stands happily at the ringside and is good in the warm up area. Some days he can be nappy out hacking if alone but is good in company. He is good to lead another pony from or be led. Good on a walker. With us he has mainly done low level show jumping, and hacking. He has been out on exercise with the racehorses and enjoys cantering around with them. He would do a nice dressage test & has done a low level one with current jockey and did win! But the jockey just likes jumping. He has not hunted before, but may take to it. He did beach rides in his previous home. He has regular physio and was scoped clear in September 2024. This pony needs a sensitive, experienced and caring home. Please call to discuss further.
