Description: So I’ve been thinking about this for a while . . . Having lost some enthusiasm/motivation for competing, and enjoying bringing on the baby ponies, it might be time for Nigel to look for a new 🏡. This time last year we were out SJ at a metre and doing (unaffiliated) 100 ODE’s, and making the time XC without chasing. This year I’ve just not got going and he’s been pottering about, hacking and going to the odd fun ride & clinic! He’s 10 yr old, 14.3-15hh approx (would probably measure in if you wanted him to). Currently a bit fat and only half fit 🤣 Generally very, very easy to do on the ground, can still have the odd sharp moment ridden (busy warmups still worry him a bit, and big traffic), so needs a rider who can ‘read the room’ and keep him happy. But can also be a dobbin and plod to the pub and stand tied to a tree while you have lunch. Needs a balanced rider - he is only as brave as the person on his back! Can be strong XC. Would suit a capable teenager or adult wanting to get out and have fun. The list of things he’s done is fairly endless: Intermediate team chasing, qualified Cotswold Cup championship, evented and HT up to 100, novice dressage, hunt relays, camps, climbed Cadair Idris, loads of fun rides, pony adventures etc etc. Much loved so right home & jockey of utmost importance. Won’t suit an anxious or nervy person.
