- Description
- Approx. 16.3hh chestnut gelding, 13 years old, by Jumbo.
He has successfully evented up to Novice level and show jumped to 1.20m, but has slightly lost his love for the bigger tracks. He is happier jumping around 80cm–1m, where he is more relaxed and enjoys his job. He has not competed over the past year due to his owner’s pregnancy but during this time has been on loan to teach on as he is super easy to work into an outline and responsive to aids. He is currently enjoying some arena hires and clinics and if not sold will due some shows and events over the summer.
He is a genuine and enjoyable horse who particularly loves his cross country, confidently jumping water, ditches, steps, and other solid fences. He is beautifully schooled on the flat and would also excel in a dressage-focused home.
He hacks alone and in company. He can be strong at times out hacking and can be a little on his toes, but nothing a competent rider wouldn’t manage. He has hunted previously, although he was strong. He has never bucked or reared.
On the ground, he can be a little grumpy to tack up and brush (pulls faces), which has always been the case and is well known throughout his history. He is good to box and for the farrier. He requires sedation for clipping and can occasionally be a little reluctant to catch, although he will always come in for food!!
He has his left stifle medicated annually, which was identified when purchased three years ago and is reflected in his price. This has recently been done.
A lovely, talented horse who enjoys his work, and in the right hands will give someone a huge amount of fun. He is currently in full work, fit, and ready to go. No novices, please.
Open to reasonable offers.
Tack negotiable.
