- Description
- Very difficult and reluctant rehoming of our boy Louie
Louie is a 16.3HH Warmblood Gelding who whos been part of our family for 3 years
He just turned 11 in May this year
He’s been in low level work for the last 3 years, we’ve been out on pleasure hacks & beach rides, we’ve taken him to arena hires, local agricultural shows & Cross country hires
He’s used in the riding school arena & local hacking
He’s taken part in local show jumping & dressage events
Louie gets his confidence from his rider & can be a delicate soul but when he trusts you & you him, he will give you his all
Louie has been ridden by novices & is a safe ride, he doesn’t have a malicious bone in his body, but due to his size & the facts he’s a sportshorse it doesn’t take long for them to fall into bad habits so wouldn’t be suitable for a novice to jump on & plod, so would recommend under guidance of a knowledgeable coach
Louie will hack out alone or in company
Tractors & Lorrie’s don’t faze him although on bin day he may get startled by a rogue bin
He’s perfect to load & transport
Is great for farrier & vet
Is used to the dentist & physio who he sees regularly
He’s great in open spaces, not fizzy or daft
He loves a canter in an open field
He’s more than happy to stand for a theraplate treatment in the middle of a busy yard
Louie’s scope for the future is unknown & it would all depend on the home he was given to see where he wants to go
Hes so willing, genuine & honest & the last 3 years of time my daughter has put into him has been invaluable
He would be the perfect horse for someone who is wanting to learn & grown with him & see where life takes them & what it is they enjoy or someone just getting back into horses who has the time to build up the trust & see where they can go together
His eyes light up when he sees a set of jumps as gives his best at everything he does
My daughters jumped him over 1m 20 with ease
Louie has had his hocks medicated with steroids for the last 2 years as maintenance as advised by our vet, last done in March 2025, which I’m told is a standard formality for horses of his age & experience
We have an excellent relationship with our vet who would be happy to answer any questions anyone may have
This is a very reluctant sale only due my daughters studying & work commitments it has become impossible to give him the time he deserves & he has so much potential & after all the time she’s put into him he deserves the best life
He’s having an hour on the Walker each day & he’ll continue to be worked until we get him the right home
If you would like more information on Louie or to come & meet him please get in touch
Any potential home would be throughly vetted as making sure this is the right next home for him is our sole aim
Home is more important than price
