Stunning 15.2 8YO Bay TB Mare by Adaay
Misty is a beautiful mare with 3 lovely paces. She is a quick leaner and eager to please. I feel she would excel in the show ring and is RoR eligible.
Misty finished her short racing career in 2021 retiring sound and healthy then had a generous amount of time off to mature. She was then slowly and correctly retrained to consistently work in a soft frame in all 3 paces and has been introduced to very small fences at the trot and canter and has strung a few together. She had some time off over winter and has been slowly brought back into work this spring so the attached video shows her at present as she is building the strength and balance to again be able to maintain a consistent frame.
She has been out and about at dressage lessons, fun rides and has done a few Intro classes. She had some time off over winter and has been brought back into work this spring and is currently being ridden with a mix of hacking, schooling, groundwork and polework.
Misty hacks well in company and does short familiar routes alone, but is not confident hacking alone doing new routes yet. She is excellent in heavier traffic and with all types of farm machinery. Excellent in open fields and spaces - if you’re going for a canter she has not been strong and comes back to you quickly. Misty has always been snaffle mouthed. She has a lovely temperament but is not a novice ride as she needs a rider she can take confidence from as she continues her education - she would suit somebody with experience with young horses/thoroughbreds. She is not a horse that must be kept in constant work and she has been just the same to ride after a week off as she was prior.
Misty travels well in a trailer or lorry.
Great to clip, catch, shoe/trim - she is barefoot. Misty is up to date with vaccinations, teeth, saddle fitting, worming, chiro, physio. She has clean legs and has never had any injuries. Misty is a remarkably good doer and has never been fussy about food.
She has lived happily in a large herd with mares and geldings, small herd and individually turned out - she is happy in the field or stable as long as she has company nearby that she can touch noses with. She would thrive best at a quiet yard with other horses in the same routine and would not do well on a big, busy yard with horses coming and going all day.
Genuine reason for sale for no fault of her own - happy to discuss this further. This is a horse I think a lot of, so finding the right home is more important than price.
