Description: Maggie 15.2 hh 11 yr black Welsh PB mare ( Welsh D x Knapstrupper), forward going fun cob owned in the same home since she was 5. She is well schooled, smart and is a quick learner with low mileage. Dressage is her absolute forte and her paces are fabulous. She has loads of potential to go up the levels and is currently working at Novice level. Maggie hacks out happily on her own but is equally well behaved with others and, whilst she can have a look at something she is unsure of, she will go forward with a little encouragement so needs a confident rider that can deal with the odd spook and keep her focused on the job in hand. Happy with light traffic (I only hack on rural roads but lots of tractors), she can either be on the buckle or turbo cob depending on how she feels. Maggie has done fun rides, dressage competitions, residential camp and pole clinics and always tries her hardest. Stands for the farrier/vet/dentist and lives in or out quite happily. No stable vices (I can muck out around her), and stands nicely for grooming. A good doer she can line on fresh air. Great with dogs (hacks regularly with mine), and doesn’t flinch with excited, barking dogs when out on hacks. Can be a little hesitant to load and this needs work, but will get on a trailer/lorry with encouragement and travels well. On a recent vetting she was shown to be mildly 1/10 lame on a hard circle on the left rein with subsequent treatment of the left fore Carpus with corticosteroids however, Maggie’s lameness remains extremely mild and has not been performance limiting for schooling and hacking. Found to ne sound in all other areas. A vets report is available upon request. A typical powerhouse sturdy cob with the Welsh D stamp but with a finer outline, she can carry weight and takes my 12 st easily. Looking for a loving home for this special girl. She would suit a confident teenager/adult to take her onwards and upwards especially if dressage is your preference but equally happy in a hacking home. Open to betting. Based on Chepstow.
