Description: 🐴 High Meadows Mr Martin aka Obi – 6yo, 16hh gelding 🐴 Irish import, purchased January this year. Lovely, athletic horse with huge potential in many spheres, but currently not fulfilled his capabilities. I am looking for a knowledgeable, experienced and kind home prepared to give him time. Obi was not broken in until 5 and, due to my work circumstances (starting a new business), his education since arriving in England, has been limited and his ridden work irregular. He therefore rides greener/younger than his age and will need further education, patience and time to settle with a new person. He is a sensitive, forward ride, and can carry tension, particularly in the arena. He needs a calm, quietly confident rider who can reassure him rather than put pressure on him. Not suitable for novices or nervous riders, and not an instant schoolmaster. Hacking is where he has, and still does excel. He has been excellent in heavy traffic and around farm machinery and has successfully nannied older horses. He has also completed extensive groundwork with professional support, including flag, tarp and loud-noise training. He enjoys jumping and has previously hunted and cross-country schooled with his Irish producer. Videos available. Jumping will need re-establishing. Currently appearing as rough circular areas of hair and not causing discomfort or interfering with movement. Disclosed to me at purchase, and passed a 5-stage vetting. Veterinary paperwork available. He could spend the winter settling, maturing and building a relationship on the ground before being restarted in spring, or the right person may choose to continue ridden work once settled. He’s currently being ridden by a competent and confident petite lady, and is improving with each ride. I have lost my confidence, and can’t be the rider he needs me to be, hence looking for a new family for him. Priced at £8,500 to reflect his current level of education and the time he will need.
