- This is a very hard decision to sell my boy, I have owned Tynie (Tynecastle Park) for 3 years but its time to find a new home for him. He is out of So Silk and by Sea The Stars (triple crown winner) and you can see the impeccable breeding in him. Originally bred by Lucca Cumani he was sold as a 3 year old to Robert Edery where he spent his 5 year racing career. Tynie won 6 races and had 16 second places winning over 80K for Robert, all the wins were on the flat but he did spend a year hurdling. He is still on Edery racing’s website as a featured past horse.
I bought him when he had been retired and turned out for 7 months, a bit of a project and unfit and not school trained. He came on nicely and worked well in the school, he is a very quick learner. Popped some jumps in the school and the field but I’ve only done about 70cm on him, he does have a huge jump though.
He is the loveliest natured horse, great to catch, shoe, groom and clip and loves the other horses. Never reared, bucked, bitten or kicked he is true gent. He loves hacking out but not alone, I think all the years going out with others has made him nervous being alone. Not a novice ride as can be a little spooky and jogs on a hack when he gets going, never bolts or does anything dangerous and great with any form of traffic.
Earlier this year I noticed he started behaving a little strangely and not wanting to go forward, following a vets visit we had his back x-rayed and found he has kissing spine. I had steroid injections done plus shock wave therapy which has helped, I decided not to go down the surgery route. He has had some time off and is now back lunging beautifully but needs more work on building his back muscles up which unfortunately with my job I don’t have the time to give him. He did wind suck which didn’t seem to affect him at all and he has been scoped for ulcers which was clear.
He needs long reining and general exercise very regularly and I just don’t have the time, the vet sees no reason why he couldn’t return to light work and hacking again with a light rider. He is not the best at loading alone, if a horse is already on the box he walks straight on to say hi but on his own he can be a little tricky but he gets there. Open to any viewings but preferably at the weekend. Sold with no tack. This is a very hard sale for me and will only see him go to a loving home. Up to date with vaccinations, farrier and dentist.
